A new study conducted by Kansas State University shows that the measurable increase in news coverage in the mainstream media on animal welfare issues has led to a decreased demand for meat in the United States. This also means that small groups like Mid-Hudson Vegetarian Society may be having an impact too [though obviously a smaller one]. The study found that there has been an increasing awareness over the past few years on how livestock are routinely treated in factory farms. For more information on the study click here.
