Yes, Vegetarians Get Enough Protein: according to the results of 2007-2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention {CDC), the average person eats about double the amount of protein that their body requires,   The CDC further states that with some planning, a vegetarian diet can easily meet the recommended protein needs of adults and children, and  they refer people to the USDA [US Department of Agriculture] website which includes meal planning resources for vegetarians.
