Concert for the cows
By Judy Carman, Peace to All Beings

I saw Love dressed in leaves
As I walked on the sand,
Each grain uniquely shaped in mystery.
Then a yellow bird trailing God’s light
Across the blue sky
Flew near.

I had just been singing to the cows.
They ran to the fence when they saw me,
All twenty or so of them,
Each one so beautiful,
And stood there waiting to all appearances
For their concert —
Ears forward, eyes bright and expectant.

I think musical notes have wings
And tails.
And when they fly,
All beings are blessed.
