Spiritual and Inspirational poetry that touch the heart and soul, and provoke the mind.
How can I make a difference, Lord?
How can I make a change?
To bring about some peace, Lord...
There's a world to re-arrange...
I hear my brother's crying, Lord
Their voices fill the night...
They speak of death and sorrow
Of famine and of fright!
Some are not my color, Lord
In other countries live
Most of them I'll never see
To them my prayers I give...
My brothers...some are red, Lord
My sisters...some are brown...
It's sad but if you're "colored"...
For this you are shot down!
Some of my brothers live in oceans
Some fly the skyways blue...
All those of other life forms
Are killed, mistreated, too!
You gave mankind compassion
You gave mankind free-will..
You gave mankind a loving heart
Yet why does mankind kill?
He kills off all the beauty
He slaughters what is rare...
Pollutes, tears down, and hates
As if he does not care!
With slavery and the greed
Religious battles, woes...
Will mankind destroy the earth?
Where will he stop? Who knows?
In silence of the velvet night
I always pause and pray...
You know what's in my heart, Lord...
And this is what I say....
Lord, plant a spark of love there
Within the heart of man
So each will love the other
With respect...will understand...
To learn that each is special
To encircle life with love...
To treat all life with gentleness
With Thy blessings from above....
