Spiritual and Inspirational poetry that touch the heart and soul, and provoke the mind.
The lines of time
Etch my face
My shoulders, bent and round
My teeth, long gone
I gum my food
My ears, deaf to sound,
My fingers swollen
Ache to move
My legs are numb and weak
No one comes to visit me
So I don't even speak...
Days are just a hazy blur
The nights, long and deep
To the TV, I nod off
And at night I cannot sleep,
I remember yesterdays
Of work and family fun
When young I thought aging
Was always on the run...
It was somewhere up ahead
A thing I'd never know
And now a grave waits for me
That's where someday I'll go!
Useless, worthless, worn out
And no one seems to care
The world goes madly racing by
Through dim eyes, I just stare,
I wish the world loved old folks
We still have much to share
And our youth must remember
One day old age they'll bare;
To endless days in wheel chairs
Or nursing homes and ill
How sad when bodies grow old
And your mind is young ....still....
