We miss his bark to wake us up, to let us know it’s biscuit time, go-for-a-walk time, dinner time, and go-to-bed time.

The evening after Mother's day, 14 years ago, this cute, little terrier mix
darted out in front of our car, we got out, chased after the little
speedster, and caught him. Long story, short, he was chipped, we contacted
the family (they didn’t want him) and they called him “Darry.” We re-named
our new family addition "Dario" after Indy race car driver Dario Franchitti.
May 8th, at 16+ years old, due to his heart condition worsening and
pulmonary edema, we had to have Dario euthanized, peacefully, in our arms.
We are heartbroken and miss him terribly. We miss his bark to wake us up, to
let us know it’s biscuit time, go-for-a-walk time, dinner time, and
go-to-bed time.

Dario loved camping, and especially hiking and exploring, and he would
always, fearlessly, lead the way. We miss his cat-like behaviors of chasing
biscuits and chewies, and sleeping above the couch on the backrest. We loved
his expressive ears, especially when they popped up in anticipation. He
brought so much joy and love into our lives.
Dario had a wonderful life with us and our other fur kids (especially
Molly), traveling around CA, AZ, MT, AK, Canada, FL, VA, and states in
between, seeing new things, meeting other dogs, sniffing many different
scents! We have many special, and happy memories and feel blessed to have
had Dario in our lives.
“Love knows not it’s own depth, until the hour of separation.”
