Hi Nia,
Your style of writing is so passionate! I must say I also do not celebrate
holidays with my family, too many animals products and apathy. The holidays
should be about happiness and being thankful. I am certainly not thankful
for factory farms. I think that people feel that changing their behavior
will not help all that much and they mine as well enjoy what they like
regardless of how they really feel about it. My brother for example, will
have the most sincere conversations about the things that matter to me and
in no time he will be quick to eat a package of ham. I cannot confront him,
he will just manipulate the situation and justify it with his articulate
mouth. This world is self-serving and animal suffering creates tons of easy,
paying jobs. People feel obligated to support humans even if we as an
economic system are doing things that are cruel and unjust. I love being a
vegetarian and I am proud of myself and all of you for making choices that
help
to put an end to pain and torture. Animals do not deserve any of it. Happy
Memorial day!
