I would like to share a true story that shows that the saints and our Lord himself cares about animals and our prayers for them.
Many many years ago I had a wonderful dog named Lucki. She was a stray and I adopted her when I was 19 I am now 62). When she was about three, someone threw a firecracker in our backyard and she jumped the fence in fear and ran away, unbeknownst to me or to my Dad who was upstairs at the time.
When we went to feed her the next morning she was gone. I was heartbroken.
I prayed a 9 day novena to St Jude, the saint of miracles and the impossible, while I continued to hope that she would find her way home. Before the novena was even finished, I had an appointment and was walking to the clinic and had gotten an avenue away from my home, when something told me to turn my head and look across the street.
I did just that and saw a woman walking my dog! As I approached them the dog spotted me and started crying and tugging her towards me. She said 'I guess this is your dog'. I said 'Yes, how on earth did you get ahold of her?'
She replied 'It was hot on 4th of July and we had the door open and she just walked in, but it is clear to me that this is your dog' and she handed me the leash.
I have never forgotten this lovely miracle and have been devoted to St Jude ever since.
