Works of the Creator - A Photo Journal
Dedicated to the Preservation and Restoration of the Whole of Creation
"And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good.
And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day" (Genesis 1:31)
Upside Down Block Island Duck

This really isn't an unusual occurrence caught by a camera. This is the way that many ducks feed on the algae and pond plants below the surface of the water. The duck sticks it head below the surface and when it spots something to eat, he or she gives a kick with one foot, and upside down he or she goes. We watched the ducks feed in this pond for about 15 minutes enjoying their lives as God intended. We have the power to stop killing and eating them, and we believe it's time we exercise that compassionate power. (Block Island is part of Rhode Island, which is located about 14 miles off the Eastern tip of Long Island, New York.)
