I am very happy to report that the Bronx Bar
Association-sponsored "Day at the Races" is not being held this year.
This event has been running for three years; the first
year they weren't returning phone calls - dialogue was begun during its
second year. A great deal of personal outreach was done as well.
Thanks to everyone who contacted the Bronx Bar
Association regarding withdrawing their sponsorship of animal cruelty.
PLEASE THANK PRES. FRANK LOVERRO FOR MAKING THIS
COMPASSIONATE DECISION, and encourage him to make it permanent; if you
recall, the Bar had at one point made the statement, "What difference does
it make if one event like this is cancelled?" Thanks to you, they were able
to see that 'one canceled event' matters, and can change the world.
