Poem in Grrr! Magazine
The current issue of Grrrr! Magazine, the periodical
Peta offers free to children and teens, has the lovely Shel Silverstein
except from WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS, about eating animals:
"Thanksgiving dinner's sad and thankless
Christmas dinner's dark and blue
When you stop and try to see it
From the turkey's point of view.
Sunday dinner isn't sunny
Easter feasts are just bad luck
When you see it from the viewpoint
Of a chicken or a duck.
Oh how I once loved tuna salad
Pork and lobsters, lamb chops too
Till I stopped and looked at dinner
From the dinner's point of view."
The issue also features a 'Back to School Cool' article
on hip vegan clothing, 'October is "Cut out Dissection" month' and items
about young vegan/compassionate kid/teen celebrities. In my opinion, with
meat consumption at an all-time high (now adding goats) this is the age
group to target above all. To order a free subscription for your young
