Action Alerts Please contact these two magazines regarding their less-than-compassionate coverage: 1) WOMAN'S WORLD MAGAZINE is a constant animal protection offender,
denouncing vegetarians, featuring stories about 'kindly ranchers,' breeders,
etc. In the issue of 5/30 is a story Heather Brown, a 'depressed' teenager
who conquered her depression by joining a rodeo; she now aspires to be a
'rodeo queen.' Rodeo, called 'America's answer to bullfighting' by DOMINION author
Matthew Scully, is a blatant cruelty-fest in which terrified animals are
chased, shocked, kicked, roped and other atrocities in order for some
monster to win money. Please send them photos, websites and info on why
they should not promote rodeo cruelty to 'cure' depression or any other
reason: EMAIL for Editor Stephanie Saible: 2) THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER
www.nationalenquirer.com is a very popular tabloid newspaper that used
to run good animal protection stories. In the issues of 6/19 and 6/26
respectively, they are featuring an 'Ugliest dog' contest, and a story about
a woman who beat a breeder with a dead dog, presented as humor. - It is our belief that featuring an 'Ugliest dog' contest encourages
derision and disrespect of dogs; they would not feature an 'Ugliest child
contest'; - The breeder story is called 'Chihua-OW!' and is about a woman whose
breeder-purchased puppy died; the vet told her the dog had been weaned too
young and should be returned to his mother before he died. The woman
visited the breeder and hit her on the head with the dead dog. This story is presented as humorous, ("It's a doggone mystery what
charges police will bring against a woman who hit someone with a dead
dog...); the story ends "One thing's for sure, by making the arrest they
took a bite out of crime!" Not only is this story NOT funny...they could
have educated the public about purchasing animals from breeders, and should
have taken this poor little fellow's death seriously. EMAIL:
