Important: Circus update - Contact county executive re 'white tigers' in Hanneford circus coming to Westchester

From: Animal Defenders of Westchester (ADOW)
January 24, 2019

Hanneford circus is again returning to Westchester County Center on Feb 15, 16 and 17. According to their ads they are now bringing 'white tigers.' Our understanding is Hanneford previously agreed to no longer bring wild animals here.

FYI Westchester Board of Legislators member Damon Maher states he is in the midst of completing anti-circus legislation.

In the meantime please contact Westchester county executive George Latimer and politely ask him to intervene regarding Hanneford bringing wild animals here. As you may recall Mr. Latimer previously stated he would do an 'executive order' stopping animal user circus appearances on county property - then he never followed through.

50 miles away circuses have been banned for two years already.

Dear _________

I am saddened to learn that, in addition to not being banned as many intelligent venues have done, Hanneford circus is now bringing white tigers to Westchester, though they previously promised to not bring 'wild' animals here. These sad spectacles are cruel to animals and also present a danger to the public as well, with several escaping captivity already.

Thank you in advance for your assistance,
(name)
