IMPORTANT! Contact Westchester Legislators re foie gras ban

For the second time we have asked the Westchester Board of Legislators (BOL) to enact a ban on the sale of foie gras, the cruel force-feeding of ducks and geese; the previous request died in committee, as essentially all BOL animal-related bills do. NYC is in the midst of trying to pass such a bill, Intro 1378; we are being told the BOL is 'watching' this bill. ***We were just informed this issue will not be in the current legislative agenda, 'maybe next one' - the usual neglectful, disgraceful shameful response from the BOL

Foie gras is created by shoving a footlong tube down a bird's throat and forcing so much mush in that their liver swells to 12 times its' size. These intelligent, family-oriented birds are deprived of any normal live. More than 12 countries and California have banned it already. Both ducks and geese form life-long friendships and loyalty, and have very strong family ties.
