Contact Legislators about Westchester Circus Ban

From: Animal Defenders of Westchester (ADOW)
March 11, 2020

Westchester County has introduced important legislation that would ban traveling animal acts in the entire county.

Please contact legislators and politely ask them to pass this ban. You don't have to be a resident to contact them; if you are, indicate it.

Legislators can be emailed using (last name)@westchestergov.com  Find legislators plus ph #'s here: https://westchesterlegislators.com/district-legislators

SAMPLE:

Dear Rep. ______________,

Please kindly pass the legislation to ban traveling animal acts such as circuses and rodeos, which are being banned all over the U.S and around the world. These acts are inherently cruel to the animals forced to perform, and teach children its ok to dominate those who have no voice.

Thank you,
(name, contact information)

NOTE: The current bill bans implements used in rodeos such as electric prods, sharpened spurs, etc. Rodeo purveyors deny using anything. This ban will require constant monitoring, which won't be done. They must be banned outright. The rodeo crowd is a bunch of liars who skirt around the same laws all over the country. Rodeos were here before; they will be coming back. They recently came to NYC because that ban didn't exclude them. Animals have died at rodeos; visit sharkonline.org for more information.

Thank you so much for all your efforts over the years to get us to this point!
