URGENT❗ NYS PUPPY MILL PIPELINE BILL NEEDS CONTACTS ASAP❗
As announced in the media, the NYS 'Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill' has been voted
out of the Agriculture Committee; however, it was in fact sent to the
Assembly Codes Committee - and the same contact effort needs to be
made. We were told,"Certain bills, if they contain penalties or
fiscals to the state, are reported here before moving to the floor."
10of the bill's sponsors are on this committee, which is good.
Unfortunately this committee could weaken the bill - or they could not vote
it out of committee same as before. (Note: The Westchester BOL is also
preparing its own puppy mill ban; more on this shortly).
PLEASE CONTACT MEMBERS IN THE CODES COMMITTEE (BELOW), AND URGE THEM TO
LEAVE THIS BILL INTACT AND VOTE IN FAVOR OF IT. SUGGESTIONS:
~~ Send them puppy mill photos: Several are available via google and
we will post more. The 'breeder'
animals are alone or in cramped filthy cages and
inseminatedrepeatedly far beyond their natural
physiology, with poorveterinary care - till they can't reproduce anymore.
This is a low overhead/max
profits business, like all animal 'businesses.'
~~ The 'rape rack' is unacceptable in these 'woke' times.
~~ This bill has a total of 64 co-sponsors from senate and assembly.
~~ Legislators should not be lobbyistsfor businesses or friends; they
are public representatives.
~~ The bill should not be weakened in any way: It isexcellently
drafted in line with other
venues that haveimplemented it successfully.“I would say to the pet
store owners – look at the stores in California because they're doing fine,”
said state Sen. Phil Boyle (R-Bay Shore). “They're partnering with shelters
and showing animals that need to be rescued. They're also selling pet food,
pet treats, they're grooming, they're boarding. There's a lot of other
things that go along with owning a dog or a cat.”
****If you wish, just write a short note like: "Please leave the Puppy Mill
Pipeline bill A4283/S1130 intact and vote in favor of it. Thank you,
