Unbelievable: Our legislators endose race horses to promote Yonkers Raceway AKA Empire Casino. This is a conflict of interest and total ignorance about an inhumane activity that should be banned outright.
All ignored the constantly press-reported drugging, deaths of horses and corruption involved in this activity; plus we have done humane work with three of them.
In addition to trainers receiving fines, Yonkers RW has the distinction of being found guilty of discharging human and animal waste into the Bronx River. The article has a photo of Rep. Mayer with whip in hand.
