Update: The great NYS Wildlife Killing Contest Bill A2917/S4099 is not yet on Governor Hochul's desk. We maintain contact with the bill's sponsor; the sponsors are notified when it is in front of the governor. The NYS legislature passed hundreds of bills. NYS has until the end of the calendar year to present the bill to the Governor. The hunters are continually lobbying the Governor. The sponsor has sent a letter to the Governor, detailing all the reasons why she should sign this bill.

OREGON JUST BECAME THE 9TH STATE TO BAN WILDLIFE KILLING CONTESTS; NYS SHOULD BE THE TENTH! Read more HERE.

AS YOU KNOW, THE GREAT BILL TO BAN WILDLIFE KILLING CONTESTS IN NYS HAS PASSED THE LEGISLATURE AND NOW GOES TO GOV. KATHY HOCHUL FOR HER SIGNATURE.

IT IS CERTAIN THAT HUNTERS ARE HEAVILY LOBBYING AGAINST HER SIGNING; THE HUMANE COMMUNITY IS LOBBYING TOO - AND WE DO NOT BENEFIT FROM IT LIKE THE HUNTERS DO! Making a bizarre 'contest' out of killing is not something this or any state should be involved with. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS:
