Rockefeller State Park PRESERVE is nestled in the foothills of the Hudson
River in Westchester County, where you may 'hike and enjoy views of the
Hudson and Kykuit and witness the spectacular view of the sun setting over
the Hudson and the Tappan Zee Bridge,' while viewing birds, coyotes, bears,
raccoons, turtles, frogs and more natural wonders.
Bow hunting was introduced into this lovely, bucolic setting, for deer
'management' in conjunction with the controlled-by-hunters NYS DEC; but
there are multiple reasons this incredibly cruel activity - done for
hunter's 'enjoyment' only - can and should be replaced by humane methods
such as immunocontraceptives and birth control hormones and more. Read
What to do about deer.
Whose wildlife is it? Local citizens are challenging this issue in
several states. We published two excellent, informative letters on this
disgrace in Westchester Rising: Animal crackers, Rockefeller State Park and deer
Please like and add comments to the
Save Rocky's Deer Facebook page.
Please also politely but strongly state your objections to their bow hunting on Rockefeller Park's own facebook page.

** Animal advocacy works! Rockefeller originally posted shameful signage
stating, 'We are propagating plants because deer and invasive species have
reduced their numbers.' Due to persistent intervention they removed the
signs! More on this park shortly, as they are now planning to add Carriage
Horse rides.
Thank you as always for your inspired work to help the voiceless!
