Report: Foie Gras Demo
Note:
as a result of our contacts, demo and letters to
the editor, all Trader Joe's stores have stopped selling foie gras.

First, a huge thanks to everyone who participated in
the foie gras demo outside Trader Joe's in Scarsdale.
The downside was that we had a total media black-out,
despite the fact that Kim brought two precious foie gras survivors who were
eager to 'quack' their story for reporters.
This absolutely broke my heart.
THE NEGLIGENT NATURE OF THE PRESS IS ALL THE MORE
REASON WHY IT IS URGENT WE COME OUT AND PUT LITERATURE INTO THE HANDS OF
STRANGERS, WHO WILL ENABLE US TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGE. The literature also
told how the public can put pressure on govt. officials to stop foie gras
production in NYS.
Bills in the Senate and the Assembly against
foie gras production languish apparently due to a strong farm
lobby; but we can get it out of Trader Joe's - and that will be one more
brick removed from the foundation of the foie gras industry.

Also please consider leafletting outside your local
stores that sell foie gras. I would be happy to
send a copy of the leaflet we used. This is a 100% winnable issue!
