(This letter was received regarding the transcript of an HBO piece on greyhounds that appears on our website. Our response is below:)

Dear 'Animal Defenders of Westchester',

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for providing on your site the transcripts on the bryant gumbel hbo piece on greyhound racing -- Your writeup/transcript is excellent -- well done.

I forwarded your site to the yahoo grp of my greyhound rescue group that I went through to adopt my wonderful hound -- Many people in the yahoo grp wanted to see the hbo piece, but couldn't because they don't get HBO.

Hi Teresa,

I can't tell you how glad I am that posting the HBO piece was a help!  I didn't even think about people without HBO (like me!) - I just thought it was great that HBO ran it, very empowering to the effort to stop greyhound racing.

When I got involved in animal protection, a few issues took more of my attention than others - which, I think, is usually the case.  

Greyhound racing was one of them.  Also on our site is a section devoted to those efforts (CAMPAIGNS - STOP DOG RACING).  

Thank you so much for contacting me and sharing your adoption experience as well.  I truly think we will see an end to this abuse of Man's Best Friend in the not-too-distant future.  Please feel free to contact me at any time.
