Physicians Committee for
Responsible Medicine (PCRM)
June 2014
The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) School of Medicine is scheduled to begin a medical student physiology lab in which live pigs will have tubes and needles inserted into their chest cavities and hearts. Please tell UMMC that this needs to stop.
There are only three medical schools still using animals, only one of which is still using animals for physiology training. Tell UMMC School of Medicine dean James Keeton, M.D.,to join every other medical school in the United States by ending the use of animals in physiology training.
