ACTION
We need your help and support as part of our ongoing campaign to shut down the ritual animal sacrifice of Kaporos, which begins in only a few short days. We have hundreds of people ready to take a stand for the innocent victims, and we invite you to join us if you possibly can.

INFORMATION
The Alliance to End Chickens as Kaporos is a project of United Poultry Concerns. Formed in New York City in June 2010, the Alliance is an association of groups and individuals who seek to replace the use of chickens in Kaporos ceremonies with money or other non-animal symbols of atonement. The Alliance does not oppose Kaporos per se, only the cruel and unnecessary use of chickens in the ceremony.

We are thrilled that a donor has pledged a matching donation of $10,000 to assist our rescue of Kaporos chickens next week in Brooklyn, New York. We must raise $10,000 to receive these much needed matching funds.
Costs associated with our peaceful actions are mounting. They include:
- Coveralls and face-protective masks
- signs
- tools to give water and food to the young chickens left stacked in crates for days
- We also do what we can to provide some funds to those who take in the rescued chickens to offset some of the initial veterinary costs. We have 30 sanctuaries from coast to coast set to adopt these precious birds who are otherwise marked for a horrible death by starvation, thirst, terror, abandonment and filthy bloody knives in the streets.
