were caused by the indiscriminate use of the Ankus (bull hook) at a temple in
Bangalore. Caught in the wild, taken from their mothers, baby elephants are
punished until they "succumb" to human domination. Then they are used by humans
as slave labor, with constant reminders of who's in charge...the humans.
