Hello!
I was wondering what you feel about on-line auctions
including Frontline Plus for Dogs being sold for use on CATS.
I have found some auctions selling a SINGLE PIPETTE of
Frontline Plus for dogs and instructing buyers to divide the pipette
into EIGHT doses for cats. Included in the auction w/the pipette is a
vial and a syringe. And, from what I am lead to believe, some sellers
are NOT including the manufacturer's box or the instructions from inside
the box. One seller even has the audacity to sell serum-filled syringes
of what is said to be Frontline! Another seller, in response to my
inquiry, emailed me HIS list of instructions which included the
statement "ok for pregnant cats." I have spoken with some in the
veterinary field and was told that in NO way is DOG FRONTLINE PLUS safe
for pregnant cats.
I hope you are as outraged as I am. If so--could you
direct me to someone who could help stop this potentially deadly
practice? ANY assistance/guidance you could give me would be greatly
appreciated!

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention.
We did not know that this was happening. But, as the article suggest,
this doesn't seem to be a reliable source.
First of all, we would suggest that you contact your
local vet, and ask him or her if this is legal. We would also suggest
that you take a look at www.avar.org and email then with your questions
and concerns, as they have much more experience in this area than we do.
