[Ed. Note: Thank you for taking action in December 2009 - Brookstone's Frog-O-Sphere Supplier Exposed.]
Live frogs were left on the floor to die or—mistaken for dead—tossed aside, including into the trash, by employees who had received no training.
PETA's undercover investigation of Wild Creations, Brookstone's supplier of Frog-O-Spheres, revealed unsanitary living conditions, starvation, and gross mishandling of frogs at Wild Creations' warehouse.
Frogs were left to languish in stagnant water that was murky with feces and molted skin. Many frogs were so desperate for food that they chewed on each other's legs, causing wounds, infections, and, eventually, loss of limbs. Live frogs were left on the floor to die or—mistaken for dead—tossed aside, including into the trash, by employees who had received no training.
At the time, Brookstone was Wild Creations' biggest customer and shared much responsibility for the systematic neglect and mistreatment of these frogs. PETA also received numerous complaints from shoppers who saw dead and dying frogs in Brookstone stores across the country.
Thanks to the thousands of compassionate people like you who called, e-mailed, and boycotted Brookstone, frogs will no longer languish on Brookstone store shelves, be purchased impulsively by people who cannot provide them with adequate care, or be shipped across the country as mere pieces of home décor.
