Catskill Animal Sanctuary
May 2013
Camp Kindness inspires children to think critically through the scope of compassion.
Catskill Animal Sanctuary’s summer day camp is an educational program for children that strives to foster compassion towards all living creatures as well as a respect for our planet.
Just as Catskill Animal Sanctuary is no ordinary animal rescue, Camp Kindness is no ordinary day camp. Campers help with basic care of the farm animals — pitching in to feed the pigs, groom the horses, and maybe even take the goats for a walk!
In addition to spending time with rescued animals, campers learn about issues that affect farm animals, try their hand at vegan cooking, create craft projects, and learn about the many similarities between animals and people. Camp Kindness inspires children to think critically through the scope of compassion.
When campers leave Catskill Animal Sanctuary, they take with them many happy memories, new friends (human and animal), and an awareness of how they can make a positive difference in animals’ lives, their own lives, and in the environment.
Camp Kindness one-week sessions begin in July and are open to children ages 8-12. Schedule for 2013:
