In the summer it might seem like a good idea to bring your dog along with you while you go grocery shopping, to the post office, or even out to eat. However, if you leave your dog in the car while on your errands, you are likely putting little Fido's life at risk. Each year, many dogs die from heat-related injuries after being left in a locked car for too long.
