The Cameron’s do have a platform…and they are using it in the best ways that they know to do. They are putting a plan into action to help all those that will follow to being to live the vegan lifestyle and truly make a difference. As this is going to play out over this next generation, I can think of no more compelling script.
“I’ve had an epiphany recently…I want to challenge all of you as people
of deep conscience, people who are environmental stewards of the earth and
oceans…by changing what you eat, you will change the contract between the
human species and the natural world.”
– James Cameron
No, this is not the theme of some Hollywood blockbuster…this is happening in real life. Award-winning director and producer James Cameron and his wife Suzy are taking the vegan ethic and lifestyle to the mainstream in a powerful way. James Cameron has been nominated for six Academy Awards and has won three and has the two highest grossing films of all time in Titanic and Avatar. He has come to know the best of the world has to offer and yet he realizes that it does not matter what we achieve or what we have if if is at the expense of other living creatures and the health of our bodies and the planet.
James, his wife Suzy, and their children became vegan because they know it is the most responsible action that we can take as inhabitants of this planet. It is best for our health. It is a step towards the liberation of animals. It is one of the most powerful things that we can do to be true stewards and protectors of the resources of this planet. In a recent piece on CNN, Cameron explained that 60% of our crops go towards feeding animals, which is extremely inefficient. By going vegan we reduce our carbon footprint to a third of those who consume animals products. He said that we can “change the thermostat” on the planet. Choosing to live the vegan lifestyle is truly the most impacting decision one could ever make and an answer for healing our health, the planet, and our relationships with all living creatures. We have enough food crops for everyone on the planet right now twice over if it was just used properly.
The Cameron’s now grow most of their own food and are examples of the impact of what we can do when we truly take responsibility for how we eat and live. They are also putting in place the first entirely vegan food program in a school at their charter school in Southern California. It will be a living and great model for all others to follow. James has been described by a biographer as being “part scientist and part artist.” He spoke to a group of the leading environmentalists in the world and challenged them that they can not really call themselves environmentalists while still consuming animals products. It is totally incongruent with the objectives that are seeking after.
The Cameron’s do have a platform…and they are using it in the best ways that they know to do. They are putting a plan into action to help all those that will follow to being to live the vegan lifestyle and truly make a difference. As this is going to play out over this next generation, I can think of no more compelling script. The possibility for change is greater in this coming generation than any generation preceding it. We can be more than just extras in this grandest of projects…a true movement of life and liberation. We can all play the leads and impact areas of influence wherever we are by taking responsibility personally for how we live and what we eat. It absolutely makes a difference and James and Suzy Cameron and their family is showing us how much. Do you want to be a super-hero for the animals and planet? Then become vegan and become part of the greatest revolution this planet has ever known. Human life, animal life, and the resources of our planet await our decision and action.
