Turkeys hung by their feet at Granny's Poultry

The governments of Canada and Manitoba announced today that they are giving $2.5 million in funding to producer-owned Granny’s Poultry to expand its slaughter operations.

CETFA has exposed Granny’s cruel practices since 2007, including workers slamming turkeys into transport crates, hanging the heavy birds from their legs while fully conscious, transporting birds without weather protection in extreme cold and using methods of killing considered so cruel and outdated that they are no longer used in more progressive countries.

Is this really what our tax dollars should be used to support?
