Elephant Training in Thailand

Fortunately there is no sound to this video. I have heard the screams of these baby elephants and they are worse than you can imagine. They are captured in the wild and separated from their mothers for the first time in their lives. They are forced into “crush boxes” where they are beaten, harassed, mutilated, whipped and stabbed, deprived of food and water. This is to “teach” them that the humans are in charge. This “training” can last for up to two weeks. Some elephants die. Their spirits are broken so they can used for elephant rides (supported by Western tourists) and for logging. Brutality follows the elephants throughout their lives.
