This pandemic highlights delusions linking animal abuse and human misery through the millenia. There are ways to break the cycle.

Here is the spring 2020 Special COVID-Response Issue of Persons,
the Newsletter of Responsible Policies for Animals

I hope that you and your family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues
are safe and well in the COVID-19 pandemic. It is unfortunate that so
far our most influential institutions and spokespersons are not yet
discussing root causes of the spillover of the coronavirus from other
animals to human beings -- making inevitable the next disease outbreak, and
the one after that, and the one after that.
The need to teach the public and those who run our institutions that
reducing animal abuse is the key to improving the human plight is dire.
Very few people will change anything about their lives, or work for any
policy change, if they believe the change "only" benefits nonhuman animals
and not themselves and their families, communities, nation, and species.
I hope you will value Responsible Policies for Animals' endeavor to make our
institutions tell the whole truth about animal abuse and its devastating
impacts on human beings, as emphasized in this new issue of Persons.
