CAARE's 2020 Successes Toward Ending Animal Testing and Experimentation
Alternatives to Animal Testing, Experimentation and Dissection - An Animal Rights Article from All-Creatures.org
CAARE is building a movement to educate people
everywhere about the reality of animal testing – how it’s ruthless,
ineffective and can be replaced with superior methods. And we are having
successes.
Few people realize that over 100 million animals are abused and killed in
experiments each year that are outdated, barbaric and a hindrance to medical
progress. That’s why CAARE is building a movement to educate people
everywhere about the reality of animal testing – how it’s ruthless,
ineffective and can be replaced with superior methods.
CAARE is uncompromisingly committed to challenging the routine use of
animals by the multibillion-dollar animal experimentation industry. And we
are having success.
Will you chip in before midnight on December 31st to help us raise the
$50,000 we need to power our work for the coming year?
I want to share some of the incredible progress CAARE has achieved working
with a small team and limited budget:
- We shut down heinous experiments at the State University of NY that
involved the live dissection of young cats and at the University of
Missouri that inflicted painful burns and wounds on beagles’ eyes before
killing them.
- We introduced The Humane Research and Testing Act of 2020 in
Congress, a bill that has the potential to bring sweeping changes by
establishing an NIH center for developing, funding and training
scientists to use non-animal alternatives.
- We published the hard-hitting report, From Trauma to Treatment,
exposing the brutality of PTSD research done on animals that consumes
millions of dollars that could be treating patients [No More Animal Victims for PTSD Research].
- We launched our Terror in The Lab campaign, to expose current PTSD
experiments done on animals with the aim of shutting them down.
- Closed the cat lab at the SUNY College of Optometry, where for over
35 years, live cats were dissected in despicable “curiosity”
experiments.
- Ended experiments on beagles at University of Missouri that injured
their eyes with acids and scalpels before killing them.
- Showed how we can fight the coronavirus pandemic without animal
experiments and how non-animal methods were instrumental in rapidly
developing a COVID vaccine.
- Exposed horrific vaping experiments on animals carried out by the
CDC that forced animals to choke on noxious fumes and bombarded CDC with
letters to call for an end.
- Investigated cruel experiments at Boston Children’s Hospital that
cause mice to slowly suffocate, and inspired thousands of people to
contact the hospital to end them.
CAARE is fighting back against the massive entities that perpetuate
animal experiments, and we can't afford to let up.

$50,000 we need to power our work for the coming year? Thank you!
