The long-awaited ban on wild animal acts has been signed into law by Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Going above and beyond California’s statewide circus ban, it prohibits wild animals at parties and performing animal shows, with certain exceptions.

Campaigning for the ban for eight years, ADI worked with the LA City Council and City attorneys to ensure that it reflected the intent of Councilmember David E. Ryu's motion, unanimously passed in 2017, to draft the ordinance.
