No new puppy-selling pet stores will be allowed to open in the state of Washington and the puppy mill pipeline will not worsen in our state.
HB 1424 is an important step forward for Washington. This legislation
protects both consumers and animals by ensuring that no new puppy-selling
pet stores will be allowed to open and the puppy mill pipeline does not
worsen in our state.
This achievement represents years of work and we are thrilled that our
unwavering dedication to get this important legislation passed will have a
positive impact for years to come. Thank you to all who have expressed your
support for this bill throughout this process – we could not have done this
without you! We are also extremely grateful for Representative Amy Walen and
Representative April Berg for sponsoring this bill.
As always, we continue advocating for animals everywhere and are already
planning ahead for next year’s legislative session. Thank you for your
dedication to ending animal cruelty and supporting our work!
