This man hated his work and asked Four Paws and Animal Rescue Cambodia to help him end this. On this day new paperwork was signed where Four Paws facilitated the purchase of a rice field; a farm that will now allow this man to feed his family while no longer needing to kill dogs. His future and the rescued dogs' futures look bright.

An emotional moment, for reasons hard to believe. Last week, we told you about our team that closed down a dog slaughterhouse with the help of our partner Animal Rescue Cambodia.
Today we wanted to share with you this photo: A picture holding so much meaning for us. A simple shot of the now-rescued dogs and the former owner of the facility.
At this place, over 2,000 dogs were killed each year yet, the owner’s heart wasn’t in it. He actually hated this line of work and was eager for a way out, though he still needed to provide for his family.
When the photo was taken, he was overwhelmed with the emotions of the day. Our photographer captured the moment he was able to free the dogs instead of having to kill them.
On this day as well, new paperwork was signed where FOUR PAWS facilitated the purchase of a rice field; a farm that will now allow this man to feed his family while no longer needing to kill dogs. His future looks bright, as does the dogs we rescued.
Unfortunately still, there are many other places like this. And closing slaughterhouses one-by-one isn’t enough. Laws need to change. You can help us close them by adding your voice to our petition calling on the governments of Southeast Asia to ban the trade - SAVE DOGS AND CATS IN SOUTHEAST ASIA.
