The cows and goats who produce the milk that humans consume do not make this choice. They do not choose to be artificially inseminated, nor do they want their children forcibly taken away from them to be sold or killed.
I became a vegan several years before my adopted son came along, but when we started connecting with breast milk donors once he was born, my dislike of the dairy industry became an abhorrence. The pain, work and time put into supplying my son with milk was done by choice.
These women chose to sacrifice of themselves to help my baby.
The cows and goats who produce the
milk that humans consume do not make this choice. They do not choose to be
artificially inseminated, nor do they want their children forcibly taken
away from them to be sold or killed. They also do not choose to be
slaughtered once they no longer produce enough milk. Yet all of these
choices about their bodies and babies are made for them, without their
consent.
We are not baby cows or goats, nor do we need breast milk past childhood.
People need to realize that whenever they eat ice cream, a slice of cheese,
or drink a cup of milk, they are stealing breast milk from an oppressed
female. All feminists need to stand up and say NO!
