Supporting the dairy industry is supporting the violation of motherhood.
I was horrified when I learned that dairy cows have to deliver a baby in order to produce milk, and that their babies are taken away— over and over again— to keep them lactating at maximum yields.
Already a mother myself at that point, I felt guilty and ashamed to have been part of such a horrible, disgusting industry for so many years.
Factory farm or small organic farm, cows used for dairy are still deprived of their babies, their reproductive systems are still grossly exploited, and they are still slaughtered when they have outlived their profitability. Supporting the dairy industry is supporting the violation of motherhood, and of innocent, beautiful creatures.
