Skye is a mama dog rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea. She now lives in the Clorofil microsanctuary and has her own web pages, Skye's Diary. A whimsical diary of the journey from trauma to trust of SKYE a Jindo dog rescued from a South Korean Meat Farm. Based on a true story.
First let me say that I am Skye's mom, so I may be a little biased. It was
amazing to work with both the author and illustrator. Marian was able to
turn Skye's online blog into a fun and heartwarming children's story. Marc's
drawings capture perfectly Skye's spirit. The end result is an amazing book
full of compassion. She is learning with my guidance to be a dog in her new
forever home in California. Inspired by Skye's diary, our friend Marian Hailey-Moss wrote a whimsical
diary of the journey from trauma to trust of Skye. For ages 7-11 or everyone who loves
a fun, heartwarming read with a happy ending.

Cutest adult/childrens book to encourage going veg. I wanted to encourage
some coworkers to eat more plant based and I thought this was a gentle nudge
in the direction to connect that all animals are sentinel beings. It’s the
perfect book, it’s beautifully written and illustrated and gives just the
right amount of information to give without overwhelming people.

This book should be in every library! This is a lovely, heartwarming, and
inspiring book - based on a true story! - which should be in every library
and home with young children. It teaches about the importance of compassion,
and how love can transform the life of those who have suffered deeply. The
illustrations are beautiful and bright and really bring the main characters
to life. Skye is one lucky dog to have found her rescuers in Isabelle and
Peter. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Absolutely beautiful. A charming, sweet true story of the importance of
kindness and compassion to animals. Thank you for bringing awareness of the
plight of farmed animals and the necessity of a plant based diet. I teared
up a bit at a few bittersweet moments of Skye learning to love and trust and
just be a dog. This is a great book to share with children and adults alike.

Loved this book! I read the book online, but knew I had to have a hard copy.
Not too many books about dogs that have emerged from the dog meat trade
alive, and if any, none that tell the story in such a wonderful way that
comes across as being enjoyable, happy, and cute. The artwork is just as
amazing as the story. So glad you have your life, Skye!

Charming book for kids and adults. The story of how Isabelle rescued Skye
and developed a trusting bond is both heartwarming and instructive for how
we all can be more kind to animals. The charming illustrations and narrative
are delightful. This one is destined to become a classic for inspiring and
uplifting all readers about our relationship with animals.

Heartwarming story about rescue dog. In this incredible book, author Marian
Hailey- Moss takes us on a journey with a rescue dog Skye. From the
perspective of Skye, we learn about life before Skye was rescued and how the
change transformed the pup. It is not easy to trust again after a traumatic
experience, and dogs, just like humans, need to build trust. This
heartwarming story showcases the bravery of animal activist Isabelle and her
unconditional love for animals. It also teaches the reader to be patient
with animals and to love all animals. The colorful, playful illustrations
fulfill the story and add extra feeling to this tale. Marian's books can be
enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, I was a Broadway actress - doing supporting roles in “Harvey” with Helen Hayes and Jimmy Stewart, “Company” and “the Women.” In the 60's and early 70's. And Brenda in the movie “Lovers and Other Strangers.” Now I'm creating stories about our animal friends. I live and write with three rescued kitties on the Upper West Side in New York City. I write children's books. They're about animals with a hint of green. My hope is that while having fun reading and coloring, animals are seen as precious friends and will find a forever sweet home in children’s hearts. Our planet depends on us. Visit her website.
