It is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read! Reading it I
constantly felt like: "This essay is so good, I completely agree. Oh, this
is even better, I want to share this. No, I'll share that one. No this one.
Oh wait, this is good too! Oh, I can't decide..." But what I can do is tell
you to read it too! I think from now on every time I feel sad or overwhelmed
by our world that is not becoming vegan quick enough, I'll just open this
book and read any essay. Because then I will know that there are lots
of people all over the world who do care and who are doing everything they
can to make the world a better place for everyone. I love the design of the
book but I wish it would be smaller. I would love to carry it around with me
and put in in my bag, so that I could read it wherever and whenever.

There was nothing surprising here if you are already vegan. The majority of
essays speak of their love for animals, the environment and justice overall.
I did find the book to include a high number of editing issues, which would
have been easy to fix. The book was also extremely repetitive despite
different authors. I suppose this was to be expected on some level but it
did detract from my enjoyment.

It's a great collaborative project. One can find representatives of some
quite unusual places there (incl. my small country~). The point of much
efforts of Mrs. Butterflies-Katz is to conserve the original definition and
meaning of veganism. Most of these essays do very well, while at the same
time, many elucidate for us the situation of animal rights and veganism in
various parts of the globe.
Butterflies has been a proud vegan for over a quarter of a century, and has lived communally for 25 years. Her life’s passion is to spread the vegan message. Towards that end, she publishes informative articles and is a professional vegan chef. She is also a full-time volunteer for a non-profit educational organization. She co-authored: Incredibly Delicious: Recipes for a New Paradigm by Gentle World.org. See her poetry HERE.
