1. Comments from a Rancher:
Trent Loos, rancher, host of the "Loos Tales" radio show and
public speaker defends confined facilities for sows and veal opposing
Proposition 2 in California. He refers to the Genesis book of the Bible
where God gave man dominion over animals and cites ethical grounds, such
as world hunger, to exploit farmed animals.

Some questions deserve answers (commentary)
Arguments like the ones above are an offense to God since they
clearly defy what compassion and mercy stand for. In addition, arguments
in support of factory farming on the grounds of world hunger are
deceiving, since farmed animals are the ones that consume most of the
grain that could be fed to the poor and the hungry.
2. "Those who, by their purchases, require
animals to be killed have no right to be shielded from the
slaughterhouse or any other aspect of the production of the meat they
buy. If it is distasteful for humans to think about, what can it be like
for the animals to experience it?" ~ Peter Singer (1946 - present)
Australian philosopher, author of the book Animal Liberation.
3. “Proposition 2”
Passed!
On November 4, Proposition 2 was approved by an overwhelming
margin in California becoming a historic ballot measure to stop the
inhumane confinement of animals on factory farms. Wayne Pacelle,
President and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS),
expresses it well by saying, "California voters have taken a stand for
decency and compassion and said that the systemic mistreatment of
animals on factory farms cannot continue. All animals deserve humane
treatment, including animals raised for food." Proposition 2 goes into
effect in January of 2015, giving factory farms six years to shift to
different housing systems.

It is great news for God's Creation that Proposition 2 passed, giving
hope to the billions of animals that suffer on a daily basis due to the
greed of the animal agriculture industry and all those who support it.
Maybe now, the people who are behind this industry will realize that
there is a great deal of people who will take a stand for God's animals;
and hopefully more people, upon learning of the inhumane treatment of
farmed animals, will choose to adopt a plant-based diet.
4. (RSV) 1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a
roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. Resist him, firm in your
faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your
brotherhood throughout the world.
We live in a world full of temptations. Greed, ambition, pleasure and
power can drive us away from God. Being mindful of our actions that
should be driven by the teachings of Jesus Christ, can help us resist
these temptations and focus on obeying and glorifying God.
5. People Want More to Say in the Treatment of
Farmed Animals: The group
Ketchum’s Global Food & Nutrition released the results of a global
survey of 1,000 consumers in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Argentina and
China that showed that at least half of those consumers want more say in
the treatment of farmed animals. The study, "Food 2020: The Consumer as
CEO," yielded some strong indications of what the global food industry
might look like by the year 2020.

6. Preparing for Thanksgiving:
Thanksgiving is coming up and already, thanks to the animal advocacy
movement, many people will choose a compassionate meal in order to
alleviate the suffering of farmed animals, especially turkeys. However,
the majority of people are still unaware of the unimaginable pain and
suffering these animals undergo for the sake of taste and profit.
Please share this article with friends and family to expose the
reality of the lives of farmed turkeys, by searching online for:
