Australia Beef Crisis Hits as Drought Decimates Wheat
Jesus preached, “For I was hungry
and you gave me food.… [A]s you did it to one of the least of these
my brethren, you did it to me” (Matt. 25:35, 40 RSV). Animal
agriculture is a very inefficient way to produce food for humans. It
takes up to 10 pounds of wheat to produce 1 pound of beef. Many of
the world poor and hunger could have access to more grains if half
of the world grains weren’t fed to farmed animals. In the US 66% of
all the grains go to feed farmed animals.
