Saving the Bluefin Tuna from Extinction
Do to the sheer popularity of the bluefin tuna among consumers of
sushi and sashimi, the populations of this fish have decreased in
numbers more than 80% since 1970. However, there might still be hope
for this species. Last week the Obama Administration announced that
it would support a proposed ban on international trade of the
Atlantic bluefin tuna at the upcoming meeting of the Convention on
International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) in Doha, Qatar.

when we are driving species to extinction due to our desire for
their flesh? We need to step up to the sacred responsibility that
has been bestowed on us by our Creator and start to actively
participate in the reconciliation of God’s Creation. Transitioning
to a plant-based diet helps us show love and compassion to God’s
animals.
