Dear Scott:
The main reason that we focus on the animal issues, is because none of the groups against abortion are doing anything to end the suffering of animals. And someone has to speak for the animals from a religious point of view.
Humans stop caring about the suffering of animals way before they stop caring about human unborn babies. We are going after the root cause of their hardness of heart.
And, the original Hebrew of the Bible teaches us that both animals and humans were created as neh-fesh khah-yaw, living souls.
