Dear Olivia:
We’re happy to hear that you have added ethics to you food choices and that you are now fully vegan.
We discuss a lot of your questions in the Bible section of our web site, but we’ll try to answer what we can in brief here.
God’s creation and heavenly intent is that we eat only plant foods, for there was no death in Eden before the Fall, and there is no death in heaven, and Jesus taught us to pray for God’s heavenly will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. This is key to answering your other questions.
God never “provided” animals for humans to eat. Human depravity made the choice and God tries to limit their depravity (so-called clean animals).
Jesus fed the people with mostly bread, He added the two small dead (smoked or salted) fish that were given to Him. His intent was always to turn people back to the heavenly will of God.
We need to remember that the quail were also dead, for that is the only way they could have been three feet high (God didn’t kill them; He created them). Also many people got sick and died from eating the quail. God had provided a vegan bread from heaven (manna), which people grumbled about, but after the quail event they went back to eating the vegan manna.
All animals want to live, just as we do, so there is no such thing as a “humane” animal farm.
Most people won’t want to listen to you talk, but your loving and compassionate way of living before them will be a witness against them, and may just prompt some people to ask you some questions.
We look forward to hearing back from you.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
