Dear Janine:
We became vegan from the start for reasons of compassion.
A vegan diet is not the same as being vegan, which is really a lifestyle, where you remove all animal products from every aspect of your life. This only happens when people have real empathy for the animals and the rest of God’s creation.
It takes about 3 weeks for a person’s tastes and metabolism to stabilize to the change in diet.
For changes in lifestyle to become permanent, they must have a spiritual inner component that the truly desire to do. This happens when they have true empathy for the whole of God’s creation (humans, animals, and the environment), and when we do, we feel its pain and suffering, and we realize that being vegan is our only choice.
We hope this helps.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary Hoffman
