Our animal cruelty discussions are about animals and religion (Christian, Jewish and others); diet and lifestyle (vegan and vegetarian); and other miscellaneous subjects.
Dear Dawn:
Thank you for writing back.
What happened to you with God and religion, is very common among people who care about animals. The hardness of heart in the churches chases people away, which is totally opposite to the way they should be behaving. What they are doing is ungodly, and that is what we have been working against for the past 30 years. And the reason that we persist in this endeavor is because about 85% of the people consider themselves to be Christian in the US and to a lesser degree in other western countries. They are a major force that needs to be reckoned with.
You are not being horrible. In fact your loving and caring attitude is much more Christian than most so-called believers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you over the loss of your dog, the pain and grief you feel is the same as with those who have lost a child, and we understand what you are going through, as we’ve been there several times ourselves over the years.
We look forward to hearing back from you.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
