Thank you for your reply, and we understand where you are coming from, but you are limiting your scope.
Intensive animal agriculture operations have brought about all the major viral infections that have plagued humans and other animals over the centuries, such as the present outbreaks of bird flu. Furthermore, almost all the so call stomach flue, and food poisoning is the result of eating animal fecal matter that remains in animal products, or has contaminated vegetables, such as happened when runoff from a dairy farm contaminated the lettuce in a neighboring farm.
Additionally, Paul never anticipated the horrors of the animal agriculture industry of today. He was speaking about his day, and that our salvation depends on more than food.
People who are indifferent to the suffering of animals are really hiding from the truth, and they are in reality hardening their hearts to the atrocities being committed upon animals. God wants us to loving and compassionate and a soft heart. The two just can't exist together!
