Christian Bowhunters of America
Is it really Christian?
Comment by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 1 Sep 2006
Dear Andrew:
Thank you very much for your polite and respectful letter.
The major difference between us, according to you letter, seems to be one of belief, and if we were just referring to each other, we would agree completely. However, we are not just talking about us; there are third parties involved, the deer and other animals, who have similar feelings and desires that we humans have, including the desire to live and enjoy life, which you are depriving them of.
By planting the crops you spoke about, you are actually baiting the innocent animals, and then you betray the gift you have provided them by killing them. We cant see how you, as a follower of Jesus Christ, dont see that this is counter to all of Jesus teaching, and its something that He would never do.
None of us need to eat any animal products to live a very healthy life.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
