Thank you very much for your comments. We will post them and hopefully John will respond, too. In the meantime, we will respond to your questions.
There is no indication that Jesus ate the fish that He multiplied with the bread to feed the 5000. Since the boy offered the loaves and fish to feed the mass of people, when there was clearly not enough to do so, Jesus accepted it as an act of faith, and multiplied everything to feed the people. He did not kill any additional fish to do so.
And, yes, it does appear that He only used fish as part of one of His miracles.
